In Genesis 4, we see how fast and how hard sin moves once it enters the world. We look at the offerings of Cain and Abel and why God only accepted one. Then we unpack God's warning in Genesis 4:7 that sin is crouching at the door and its desire is for you, but you must master it. Those words — sin, desire, master — send us straight back to Genesis 3.

From there, we trace the two lines coming out of Genesis 3:15, one godly and one cursed, and why Cain's murder of Abel is an attempt to wipe the good one out. Then in verse 16, Cain goes out from the presence of the Lord, the very thing that happened to Christ on the cross.
