William Tyndale told a priest he would make a plough boy know more Scripture than the priest did.

Then he was betrayed by a man he trusted, and strangled and burned in 1536.

His last words were a prayer that God would open the King of England's eyes.

Three years later the Great Bible was published in English by the king's own authority, and six copies were chained to the pulpit at St. Paul's because people were so hungry for it.
