Nehemiah chapter three is a list of names.
It reads like a roll call, and most of us skim it. Look closer at who is on it.
Goldsmiths. Perfumers. Merchants. Priests.
Not one professional builder in the bunch.
Notice where they worked. Over and over the text says a man repaired the section in front of his own house. Shallum's daughters worked on his stretch of the wall.
Nobody stood back waiting for someone more qualified to show up.
The wall went up because ordinary people took the piece of it that was directly in front of them.
Yours is probably in front of you right now.
Jesus said, "For those who have ears to hear, let them hear."
